My over two decades’ experience in leading and managing educational and development programs has made me aware of the desperate need for an expansion of awareness of the risks associated with biohazards in educational institutions in our region. In general, the lack of knowledge about biorisk management in otherwise skilled operators needs addressing, particularly now as greater emphasis on biosecurity has been shown to be necessary. Our company aims to rectify this situation adopting a comprehensive knowledge and skills-based approach through awareness, sensitization, and mobilization of all those associated directly or indirectly with life science teaching and research about biosafety and biosecurity practices.
With the emergence of the COVID-19 epidemic and its expansion into a pandemic, awareness at all levels must be ensured, especially given the predicted continuous spread. We thought of a forum from where the community is served at their doorsteps in such emergencies – to have a safe and secure environment from biological threats.
I am incredibly excited about this initiative and truly believe the best of Biosafe Service is yet to come.
